Texala presents an excellent opportunity for Quality Assurance & Testing Lead

We are seeking a QA Lead to be responsible for planning, designing, and automating test suites to ensure continuous quality improvement of the output of the development squad working in an agile environment.

Your work will involve close collaboration with Architects, Developers, Business analysts, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will have deep technical skills in distributed systems, test development, test automation tools, networking, and observability technologies running on Linux and Kubernetes/OpenShift. Experience working in an agile, DevOps environment where test automation is standard practice is a definite plus.

Roles Responsibilities

  • Create/maintain object-oriented test framework from the lowest level, including integration and configuration of other CI tools
  • Writing well-designed, object-oriented, multi-class code in Java
  • Writing and understanding SQL queries including multiple joins
  • Creating and executing automated test scripts for regression, integration, and functional testing on newly designed or modified applications/systems
  • Develops test strategies, procedures, and automated test cases based on a grounded understanding of client quality expectations
  • Works collaboratively with architects and developers to deliver working and test units of code in each sprint
  • Integrates test scripts, results, and metrics into the overall Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD) process
  • Reviews functional specs/designs and provides feedback to the development team
  • Investigate and implement new testing methods and tools to maximize testing efficiency
  • Leadership and mentoring to junior team members

Technical Skills Required

  • Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with Software Testing Life cycle management, testing methodologies, tools, and process, (test planning, scoping test strategy, test estimation)
  • Must have programming experience using Java/Shell Script/Python
  • Experience with observability technologies like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Kafka, and Jenkins
  • Experience working with CI/CD processes, DevOps methodologies, and tools such as git, Jenkins, and Travis
  • Must know about working with web-based technologies (SOAP/REST)
  • Must know SVN, and GIT distributed version control
  • Candidate must have extensive experience working with analysis, documentation, defect tracking, validation, and verification
  • Experience with multiple cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and Google as well as VMware and OpenStack
  • Familiarity with JMeter, Selenium, Nginx, and Prof is an asset
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes
  • Leadership and mentorship skills to guide junior team members
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
